New Vision Packaging set to contest major awards

New Vision Packaging is one of seven finalists set to contest the Entrepreneurial Business of the Year award at this year’s UK Packaging Awards.  

The UK-based provider of retail packaging solutions, which offers a fresh perspective on packaging design and supply, marked a highly successful 12-month period by also making an 11-strong shortlist – with its The Flying Scotch Dram Whisky Gift Pack – for Cartonboard Pack of the Year. 

The shortlist, in what organisers described as “an incredibly competitive year”, was revealed earlier this week, with the winners due to be announced at a glittering gala dinner on October 19, 2022, at the iconic Grosvenor House on London’s Park Lane.  

Stephen Shortland, Managing Director of New Vision, said: “Just two years after Brexit threatened our very existence, our humble, six-person team has just posted eye-catching annual accounts, which will likely be the envy of many of the packaging industry’s major players. Our inclusion in these two categories is a measure of our commitment to vision and innovation and is indicative of a business that continues to make itself essential to the biggest brands in the world. 

“At New Vision, we believe the long-term future of packaging will be more secure if it’s as plastic-free as possible. We’ve overhauled our approach to be more carton board-focused, and found it unlocked a whole host of creative possibilities. 

“A perfect example of this was our ability to transport a client into a whole new sub-sector that previously never existed. A sub-sector now worth in excess of £5 million in retail sales. 

“Our talented team helped bring the Flying Scotch Dram Whisky Gift Pack to market, and it has now been rolled out to all major supermarkets in the form of camper vans, trains, cars, festival trucks, and even a rum-filled pirate ship!” 

The Entrepreneurial Business of the Year award recognises smaller packaging suppliers that have combined outstanding financial, business and production performance, while the Cartonboard Pack of the Year category looks to reward innovation and excellence in production for all types of packs made primarily from cartonboard. 

For more than ten years, the UK Packaging Awards have honoured groups, teams, and people and have a category for all segments of the industry, from corrugated and flexible packaging to design and investment in equipment.
