The Gin Bar
The Gin Bar was designed for Home Bargains, and contains 6 bottles – 4 glass bottles and 2 small plastic bottles. The brief was to create an eye-catching pack that looked like a 2-storey Gin Bar, that presented the smaller 5cl bottles on top of the flavoured Tonic Waters.
New Vision Packaging created a base plinth made from recycled PET to house the heavier bottles of Tonic Water, while the 5cl Gin Bottles sat in their own Vacuum Formed Tray in the top of the pack. But this top tray has a clever hinged feature that folds and allows the tray to double as a way of not only holding the 5cl bottles in position, but gripping and securing the top of the Tonic Waters too. It’s a superb example of clever design that works while, at the same time, minimising the use of plastic and reducing costs for our client.
A carton was then designed to hold the products, with a roof-style top closure to create the appearance of the Bar itself. The carton has a crashlock glued base to provide strength and prevent the bottom of the box bursting with the weight of the products, while apertures were cut into the front of the box to represent the windows of the Bar front and allow the products to be seen on shelf.
The carton is printed 2 colours – a metallic pink and black – with a water based gloss varnish applied over the ink. A Pink hot foil was then applied to the front face of the box, to allow the logo to really pop on shelf, and to create a premium look to this fantastic seasonal pack.
